Once you’ve selected the surface, you attach the paint details to the preview. This is where the estimate becomes a binding color record — every field you fill in here travels with the job from the homeowner’s approval through to the crew’s work order. Filling in accurate details now prevents miscommunication later.Documentation Index

Paint detail fields
Paint brand (required) Select the brand you’re using for this surface. Paintsight supports Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore, Behr, Farrow & Ball, and Dulux. Choose the brand before entering the color name and code, since color codes are brand-specific. Color name Enter the full color name as it appears in the brand’s catalog — for example, “Pewter Green” or “Hale Navy.” The color name appears on the homeowner’s approval link alongside the color code, so use the official name rather than an informal description. Color code Enter the manufacturer’s color code — for example, “SW 6208” for Sherwin-Williams or “HC-154” for Benjamin Moore. This is the definitive reference your crew uses when they order and mix paint. The color code appears on the signed approval and in the crew record. Sheen Select the sheen level for this surface: flat, eggshell, satin, semi-gloss, or gloss. Sheen is included on the homeowner approval so there’s no ambiguity about finish after the job is signed off. Surface notes Add any production instructions specific to this surface — for example, “2 coats on main wall only” or “prime first, existing color is dark.” Surface notes go directly to the crew record and do not appear on the homeowner’s approval link. The color code is the single source of truth for every preview. It appears on the signed approval and in the crew record, and it’s what your crew references when they order paint. Double-check this field against the paint swatch or manufacturer’s chip before sending for approval.
